Christian Worldview: Top 10 Commandments

The top 10 commandments were written by Barry Creamer
and from time to time on his show he has opened up the phone in discussions for these rules.
The commentary is mine with the pieces part that I remember for the discussions

bullet

Realize the Lord IS as important as I am NOT.
This should be obvious but we all need to be reminded that Jesus is our Lord and Savior.
His death paid the price for our sins and allows us to be in a relationship with God, the Father.

bullet

Choose Life over Death.
Again obvious but needing statement but all life belongs to God, not us.
When dealing with issue like euthanasia, abortion or embryonic step cell research.
The issue results in the ending of life so that should be a wrong choice.

bullet

Aim for what I will be, not what I am.
Strive to be the better person the God wants from you. Realize that we all fall short of God's glory.
But, rather then accept that we are flawed people, we should be working on fixing those flaws.

bullet

Be brutally honest and persistently kind.
Paul writes speak the truth but speak it with love.
We need to be honest with but at the same time we need to show love and kindness to each other.

bullet

Expect Nothing; Be Grateful for Everything.
Remember that the everything belongs to God and that we are only stewards.

bullet

Do What Is Right BEFORE What Works.
Doing what is right is always the best course of action.
If lying or cheating gets you at of a jam, you then have compounded the problem by willfully committing a sin.

bullet

Make every rule for everybody, including me.
It is easy for people to make rules to govern behavior.
But, they are always hard to follow, even when we make the rules.
So, when we make rules, the first one that should follow that rule is ourselves.

bullet

Make More Than Matter Matter.
Material things will come and go. So our focus should be on how we bring glory to God, not in things.

bullet

Remember People Are Not Good, but Can Change (or, more precisely, be changed)
As we go about our daily business, we will seen many random acts of kindness, love, and charity.
But at the same time, we will see just has many sinful acts was well.  When a person accepts Jesus
as their savior, the Holy Spirit will change them.

bullet

Admit People Act Like Sheep, but They Don’t Have to
As individuals people are very rational, but groups something funny happens.
A herd mentality will take over and normally rational people will start behaving irrationally.
The group will begin to go down to more emotional response that might not always be rational.
You can see when a protest demonstration suddenly gets out of hand and a riot begins.
Why?  the herd mentality  takes over and people lose control.
